New Integrity protection policy, rules and procedures
The Protector of Integrity in Recreation and Sport (PILS) receives and analyzes complaints and reports related to situations in which a person’s physical or psychological integrity has been compromised in the context of participating in a recreational activity or a sport.
Its role as an ombudsman allows it to take a neutral and impartial view of the situations brought to its attention. Please note that how PILS handles a complaint or report depends on the nature and seriousness of the facts reported.
In many situations, the first step can be taken with your club, association, or federation, as they are often best positioned to intervene quickly. PILS remains available to review any situation that falls within its mandate and, if necessary, guide you toward the appropriate recourse.
Consult the Integrity protection policy, rules and procedures.
Codes of conduct:
Abuse-Free Sport
Abuse-Free Sport is an independent program that is part of a growing national movement to rid Canadian sport of all forms of harassment, discrimination and abuse. As a Program Signatory, AthletesCAN is an active player in this movement.
Unlike the previous approach, where each national sport organization created its own system for dealing with complaints of maltreatment, this is a centralized “one-stop shop.” It is independent and led by experts in their fields, using education and research to prevent maltreatment at all levels of sport.
Sport’aide
